What are Corded Blinds? Is installation complicated? Can installation be done independently?
Corded blinds refer to styles that use visible or easily accessible pull cords, loops, chains, or rope mechanisms to raise, lower, and adjust the slats. Users control the position of the curtains/blinds by pulling on the cords or chains. Both drilled and no-drill installation options are available. All Roman shades, honeycomb blinds, and roller shades include detailed instructions and all necessary hardware. No professional tools are required, and most installations are completed independently within 15–30 minutes.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of corded blinds compared to cordless models? Is custom sizing supported?
Advantages: Simple construction, lower cost, easier maintenance. Disadvantages: Higher safety risks (especially in environments with children), operation may be less convenient than motorized/cordless options. We support full-size customization, allowing for free combination according to window size, fabric, color, etc.
Are corded systems suitable for all window types? What are the light-blocking and heat-insulation properties?
Not necessarily. For instance, manual cords may be difficult to operate on high windows, large windows, or hard-to-reach windows. Additionally, if furniture or beds are positioned near the window, children may access the cords. Consider motorized or cordless versions instead.Blackout fabric products provide 100% light blocking. Honeycomb blinds feature a hollow-cell structure, delivering superior heat insulation and energy efficiency, which reduces air conditioning consumption. These products are ideal for bedrooms, studies, and similar spaces.
Why do some blinds still use cord operation? How are these shades cleaned and maintained on a daily basis?
Cord operation is a traditional window treatment control mechanism. It features a simple structure and lower cost, and remains widely used on many conventional windows.Roman/roller shades: Wipe with a damp cloth or gently hand wash, then air dry flat.
Honeycomb blinds: Spot clean with a mild detergent; avoid soaking the entire unit.
Machine washing is not recommended to protect fabric and structural integrity. For motorized models, regular inspection of motors and wiring is advised, and contact with water must be avoided.
Does the cord-operated mechanism affect the light-blocking/insulation performance of the blinds? What is the warranty period, and how are after-sales issues addressed?
Essentially, the cord-operated mechanism does not directly impact light-blocking or insulation. However, if the cord mechanism and track design occupy space, it may affect fabric alignment or cause edge obstruction, thereby slightly affecting the light-blocking edges. All products carry a 1-year warranty. In the event of issues, contact online customer service for replacement support.
