FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is a Top-Down/Bottom-Up (TDBU) blind?

TDBU refers to a blind that can be raised from the bottom up (Bottom-Up) or lowered from the top down (Top-Down). This allows you to maintain privacy by keeping the bottom section closed while still letting natural light in from the top.

What advantages do top-down/bottom-up blinds offer compared to traditional blinds that only operate from the bottom up?

Traditional curtains/blinds can only be raised from the bottom or lowered completely, making it impossible to simultaneously manage “light intake” and “privacy screening.” Top-down/bottom-up blinds, however, can be lowered from the top, allowing light to enter through the upper portion of the window or providing a view of the sky while simultaneously covering the lower section to protect privacy.

My bedroom window faces the street/neighbors. Would vertical blinds be suitable?

They're perfect. Windows like this often require both natural light and privacy. You can lower the blinds slightly from the top to let in daylight while keeping the bottom covered.

If I choose top-down bottom-up installation, do I need to worry about complicated setup or operation?

No need to worry about complicated installation—we offer many drill-free options that take just 5 minutes to install.

Are top-down/bottom-up models more expensive/complex than standard ones?

They are typically slightly more expensive due to their more complex mechanisms and additional features. However, many buyers consider them worth the value for the benefits they offer: enhanced privacy, improved light control, and energy savings.
